Iowa Highways 3 and 60 and U.S. Highway 75 intersect in the city. The new bypass is part of a project which, when completed in Minnesota this roadway will provide
a four-lane corridor between Minneapolis, Omaha, Kansas City and points further
south. Part of this corridor is Interstate 29 which lies 20 minutes to the
south of Le Mars.

Located 25 miles from the Port of Sioux City on the Missouri River, LeMars
offers industries the advantage of barge transportation. The river is navigable
approximately 8 months of the year. The US Army Corp of Engineers maintain
a 9-foot deep, 300-foot wide channel for 735 navigable miles from Sioux
City to the mouth of the Missouri River. Terminals handle all types of
products by barge, rail or truck.. Some of the products transferred are:
dry bulk and liquid fertilizer, salt, grain, steel products, lumber, paper,
iron ore, feed stuffs and railroad track equipment.
Air

LeMars
Municipal Airport serves the local
area and offers a 4,000 foot runway and
an instrument landing system. Commercial
air service is available at the Sioux
City Gateway Airport, approximately 30
minutes from LeMars.
