The
Mission of the Le Mars Fire-Rescue
Department is to minimize loss of
life and Property for the City of
Le Mars and other areas covered in
Plymouth county. This would be from
fires, natural disasters and other
life and property threatening situations.
Also to assist other emergency agencies
when needed.
To
perform these services in an efficient
manner by maintaining effective fire
department prevention, emergency
response, fire suppression and training.

Cities and Townships served
in Plymouth County: Le Mars, Brunsville and
the Village of Seney.
Townships of Elgin, America,
Stanton, Grant, Preston, Johnson and Washington.
Some of these Townships are served in part
of full, about 150 sections. City of Le Mars,
Iowa is an area of about 10 square miles
and the ISO rate is 5.
The Fire-Rescue Department
has a full-time Fire Chief and 29 on-call
pay volunteers. Up to 10 non-pay reserve
volunteers are also authorized, 2 Fire Stations.
