We’ll have live entertainment both days at the Olson Cultural Event Center. You’ll be able to watch the progress of the four featured artists, enjoy live entertainment and get to taste a wide array of treats from the food vendors. The drawings last only until the next rain, but the fun and excitement of the festival will leave lasting memories.

The Le Mars Area
Chamber of Commerce
invites you to be a part of this unique and captivating form of performance art. This 2-day festival will transform the
downtown streets and sidewalks into an art gallery.
Chalk drawings made by individuals, families, school
students, neighborhood groups and professional artists
will make the area look like a huge painted canvas.

accompanied by a
supervising adult.
Chalk drawings will begin at the
Olson Cultural Event
Center and fill the surrounding streets.
Festival goers
can watch the artistic process from start to finish or
choose to make their own chalk drawing. If you’d like
to do a drawing, stop by the Olson Cultural Event Center and register to participate. You’ll start by picking
the size of your chalk—that in turn will correspond to a
particular size square for drawing. Volunteers will
frame out your drawing area, then it’s time to let your
imagination go and have fun drawing with chalk.
