Winter Collection Tips: Proper Placement of Garbage & Recycling Totes.

PROPER PLACEMENT OF GARBAGE AND RECYCLING TOTES

During garbage and recycling collection days, there are ways residents can help avoid a mess and frustration for the snowplow drivers and recycling and trash haulers. Please ensure carts are placed within your driveway, minimally two to three feet apart. Please do not place them in the street, or on top of snowbanks. Doing this can cause a safety hazard for haulers or cause damage to the totes if a snowplow catches it.

Winter collection tips:
1. Clean an area for your cart when you are clearing the snow from your driveway and sidewalks.
2. If a snowstorm occurs overnight, consider waiting until the morning to place your carts at the curb.
