7:00 - 11:00 a.m. • Pancake Breakfast & Fly-In?, Le Mars Municipal Airport, 1327 Hawkeye Avenue SW - Join us for a Breakfast & Fly-In at the Le Mars Municipal Airport. Enjoy free Young Eagles Airplane Rides (ages 8-17), Classic Car Show, Mercy One Helicopter, and Ultralight Airplanes. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage and a beverage - cost $6. (Participating Pilots & Classic Car Drivers eat free).
9:00 a.m. • Golf Tournament, Willow Creek Golf Course, 935 Park Lane - 4-person best shot, 9-hole tournament. Experience a bit of nostalgia as we play the original 9 holes. For more information call the Pro Shop, 712-546-6849.
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. • Picnic, Plymouth County Fairgrounds, Pioneer Village, 500 4th Avenue NE
Hy-Vee Food Stores, Le Mars, will be selling food. Bring your family and enjoy hamburgers, brats, chips and beverages. Fee charged. Picnic tables will be provided.
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. • Croquet, Plymouth County Fairgrounds, Pioneer Village, 500 4th Avenue NE - Learn how to play croquet. Multiple croquet sets will be available for play.
11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. • Cricket, Plymouth County Fairgrounds, by the Clock Tower, 500 4th Avenue NE - Cricket was a popular game in Le Mars in the late 1800s. Watch an exhibition game with local celebrities. Tom Melville, from Milwaukee, WI, an expert on cricket, will explain and assist people in playing the game. After the exhibition game, people can try their hand at batting a cricket ball.
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. • Pie Contest, Plymouth County Fairgrounds, Sportsman Club in Pioneer Village, 500 4th Avenue NE - Show off your pie baking skills in a pie contest. Entries will be received from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Pies must be a fruit pie and baked in an 8-9 inch (no more than 10 inch) disposable pie pan. Entrants need to be at least 6 years of age, may have assistance from an adult, and at least one person must be a Plymouth County resident. Include recipes on 3”x 5” card. Noon - 2:00 p.m. • Step Back in Time, Plymouth County Fairgrounds, Pioneer Village, 500 4th Avenue NE - A re-creation of early life in Le Mars will be enacted. Participants will be dressed in 1800s attire & will share their stories of life in Le Mars. Music provided by Allyn Anderson.
Noon - 2:00 p.m. • Children’s Games sponsored by American Bank, Plymouth County Fairgrounds, Pioneer Village, 500 4th Avenue NE - Children can step back in time and play games from the mid-1800s through the past 150 years. Some of the children’s games are hula hoops, jump rope, potato sack relays and jacks.
Noon - 2:00 p.m. • 150th Anniversary Birthday Cake and Ice Cream sponsored by the City of Le Mars, Plymouth County Fairgrounds, Pioneer Village, 500 4th Avenue NE - FREE cake, made by Cakes to Remember, and FREE Blue Bunny® ice cream will be served until gone.
