PRESS RELEASE - COVID-19

Taking into account recent recommendations by the CDC and Iowa Department of Public Health, the City of Le Mars will be taking immediate action to address COVID-19 safety guidelines.

In an effort to limit public gatherings at City facilities, the following will be implemented immediately:

  • The Le Mars Public Library will be closed to the public for two weeks beginning at 5:00 PM on Monday 16, 2020 with plans to reopen on March 31, 2020. The library will remain staffed to thoroughly clean the facility as well as assist and answer inquires by telephone. Online services will still be available.
  • All events at the City’s rental facilities will be limited to under 50 attendees. Scheduled events over the next two weeks exceeding this limit are being notified to reschedule or cancel.
  • The Community Wellness Center (YMCA) will be closed to the public for two weeks beginning at 3:00 PM on Monday 16, 2020 with plans to reopen on March 31, 2020.

This is an ever-changing situation and the City of Le Mars will continuously monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed. The public will be notified of changes to day-to-day operations as they arise.

All City of Le Mars facilities will be closed to the public effective March 18, 2020. All facilities will remain staffed and operate as usual. Any individual that has a question or is seeking information may still contact City Hall or any of the individual departments. This restriction will remain in effect through March 30, 2020. The City of Le Mars will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments as needed. The public will be notified of changes to day-to-day operations as they arise.

Cash payments over the amount on the utility account will be posted as a credit on your account. Please be sure to include payment stub and/or name on utility account, as well as a phone number so we can apply to the correct account!!

Autopay and E-Bill forms are available in the entryway at City Hall or online at https://www.lemarsiowa.com/346/Applying-for-Services for your convenience. Please fill out and place paper copies in the drop box.
