LeMars water use, resulting from continued dry weather, may produce a call for voluntary conservation by the city of LeMars. The city's Water Department monitors supplies daily and has determined that LeMars water system is currently overstressed. This is not a crisis situation, but with responsible conservation on the part of LeMars residents we may get through this period without resorting to water rationing.
Simple Steps for Conservation
Check dripping faucets
Fully utilize your appliance by running dishwasher and washing machine for full loads only.
Refrain from car washing during the weekdays
Refrain from watering lawns between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This includes shrubs, plants and trees.
Take shorter showers
