Voluntary Conservation
LeMars water use, resulting from continued dry weather, may produce a call for voluntary conservation by the city of LeMars. The city's Water Department monitors supplies daily and has determined that LeMars water system is currently overstressed. This is not a crisis situation, but with responsible conservation on the part of LeMars residents we may get through this period without resorting to water rationing.
Simple Steps for Conservation
- Check dripping faucets
- Fully utilize your appliance by running dishwasher and washing machine for full loads only.
- Refrain from car washing during the weekdays
- Refrain from watering lawns between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This includes shrubs, plants and trees.
- Take shorter showers
